We have been busy over the last week transforming the new Yoga Centre, ready for classes to start in early May. A team of dedicated workers have been pushing round the clock, and things are starting to take shape.
A big thanks to Bob Watson, handyman extraordinaire. You can hire Bob to through Goodnest or by calling him on his cell on (021 1527282). Bob can to do anything from concreting, to painting, to restoring furniture etc – he works fast and efficiently and made a big impact on the Yoga Centre renovations.
Here are some before, during and after shots of our progress. There are still some final touches, with murals, furniture and splashes of colour to liven the rooms up. We are aiming to put the first classes on for Monday 8th May at the latest.
WHAT THE STUDIO SPACE LOOKED LIKE BEFORE …
and, after … decorative features are still to come.
What the entrance to the changing room looked like before, and during …
and then, after the beautiful floor boards were revealed …
A big thanks to Mayor Andy Watson for bringing us refreshments during the toughest part of Stage One renovations. Thank you too to Linda and Reagan for getting down and dirty, lifting flooring and sanding the outside walls. Thank you to Shiv for paint discounts, and to Maree for transport and paint colour advice. Thanks to Milan for a great homecoming back in Wellington.
Also, big hugs to Miranda and Ken who stopped by to say hi in Marton, only to meet with restricted access due to building works (it looked like the picture above except worse : )

Don’t forget to pencil in our Open Day Saturday 27th May. Details of events to come. Everyone is welcome.
