On All Souls Day – NOVEMBER 2nd – we will be celebrating Day of the Dead from 6pm to 9pm, with food, fiesta and fireworks, bringing the party to the heart of Marton.
In Mexico, Dia De Muertos (Day of the Dead), means that people honour their ancestors and departed people with food, flowers, candles and fiesta.
It is an awe-inspiring event!
The NZ Yoga Centre is planning to recreate this celebration with a vegetarian potluck gathering. People can bring a favorite vegetarian dish, as well as pictures of their dearly departed. And, to make a real fiesta, visitors can bring candles, flowers, fireworks and firewood, or give a koha ($5-$10) to the ‘Fiesta Fund’ (see below).
